Every week, a different Panelteer will give you a rundown of the comics they’re most looking forward to for the week. Floppies, trades and omniboo are all fair game here. This week, Emma tells us what’s on her pull list.

Civil War II #1 by Brian Michael Bendis, David Marquez, and Justin Ponsor (Marvel)

Civil War II #1 cover by Brian Michael Bendis, David Marquez, and Justin Ponsor

I never bothered reading any of the comics during the first Civil War event, but I’ve gotten more interested in Marvel comics since then and I’m willing to give Civil War II the benefit of the doubt. It’s also a double issue, so you get more bang for your buck. Plus, Captain Marvel! She can totally beat up Iron Man.

Paper Girls #6 by Brian K. Vaughan, Cliff Chiang, and Matt Wilson (Image)

Paper Girls #6 by Brian K. Vaughan, Cliff Chiang, and Matt Wilson

This issue is the start of a new story arc for Erin, Mac, and Tiffany, so it serves as a nice jumping on point if you haven’t picked up an issue yet, like me. As Vaughan told Panels last week, this issue sees the girls moving forward in time to 2016. How are they managing in the future? I can’t wait to find out, and then catch up on the previous five issues.

Buffy: the High School Years — Freaks and Geeks trade paperback by Faith Erin Hicks, Yishan Li, Rod Espinosa, and Scott Fischer (Dark Horse)

Yes, please, take me back to my youth with this tale from Buffy’s first year at Sunnydale. I love high school stories and I love Buffy. Give me that teen angst and vampire butt-kicking.

DC Comics: Bombshells #14 by Marguerite Bennett, Laura Braga, Mirka Andolfo, and Ant Lucia (DC)

Bombshells in Berlin! Zatanna without magic! DC Comics: Bombshells is one of those series that makes me excited to read comics.

What are you picking up this week?
