Trailer Face-off: THE DARK
Lemony Snicket and Jon Klassen teamed up on a picture book that confronts one child’s fear of the dark. It is a beautifully illustrated book, and it has that slightly sinister tone that we often associate with Lemony Snicket. It also has two book trailers. Both trailers make extensive use of Klassen’s illustrations and select text from the book. The US trailer features creepy music, appropriate to both the illustrations and the content. The UK trailer relies on the voice talents of Neil Gaiman, as well as occasional glimpses of children reading the book.
