Yesterday, Oprah announced that she is
reviving her book club, which had been dormant for the last two years. The first pick of Oprah’s Book Club 2.0 (they said it, I didn’t) is
Wild by Cheryl Strayed (check
the Review GPA here). This is good news for publishing, as no single person can move as many copies as Oprah, so a few times a year an author is going to hit the jackpot.
Two years ago feels like a long time, and I wonder…do people still care? Oprah is now off network television and seems considerably less visible all-around these days, though that’s just my own sense of things.
On a scale of 1 – 10 (10 being crazy, new Harry Potter book excited and 1 being new James Patterson book excited), just how interested in Oprah revving up her book picking engines?
