It is said that to be a writer you must do two things: write and read. The first one seems pretty obvious and the second one is as important as the first. If you’ve read Stephen King’s On Writing you know he subscribes to the writers must read philosophy–although I suspect most writers would still be big readers even if they didn’t write.     If you’ve already made your way through the list of books at the end of On Writing and aren’t already following Stephen King on Twitter, you should. Not only do you get book jokes, he also recommends books. I’ve wrangled them together here going all the way back to April– in case you meant to read one but then forgot what the title was and haven’t had the time to scroll through countless tweets. I scrolled. I scrolled.           A Head Full of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay   Last Words by Michael Koryta   Intro to Alien Invasion by Owen King, Mark Jude Poirier, and Nancy Ahn   Bad Country by CB McKenzie   The Power of the Dog and The Cartel by Don Winslow   Eeny Meeny by M.J. Arlidge   World Gone By Dennis Lehane   Heart-Shaped Box, NOS4A2, Horns by Joe Hill   Finders Keepers by Stephen King   Hyacinth Girls by Lauren Frankel   Day Four by Sarah Lotz   The Border by Robert McCammon   Are you more inclined to read a book recommended by an author you love?
