Decorating Tips for Aspiring Writers
One of the more common New Year’s Resolutions, especially with the bookish set, is to write more. Speaking as someone who has made some variation of this resolution (even if I never admitted it out loud) many, many times, I know just how hard it can be to keep. As I did my after-Christmas shopping, I kept my eyes peeled for things that I could put in the apartment (where I do most of my work) to keep me inspired. I wanted to stay away from things that were meant to be inspirational, however. Instead, I was looking for subtle reminders to keep writing. I didn’t want to spend a lot either. Here’s what I came up with.
You won’t just be dreaming of words dancing across the page. You’ll be rolling around in letters, too! The EIVOR ORD duvet cover and pillow shams are available at IKEA. ($19.99)
Art print perfect for a writer’s space, from Society 6. The only thing it’s missing is a keyboard. ($18.00)
Even when you’re not writing, you can still make words with these Letter Pressed Cookie Cutters, available at World Market (in-store only, $17.99)
I read it as “And…?” – a subtle reminder to keep going with whatever you’re writing. Ampersand art from breedingfancy on ETSY ($24.00)
I do my best thinking in the shower. Why not surround myself with little bits of inspiration? The Pockets Shower Curtain is available at Urban Outfitters ($24.00)
