A couple of weeks ago, right as The Great Gatsby was hitting theaters  New York Magazine published a piece by a critic who just hates The Great Gatsby. The article got passed around quite a bit, and I was surprised to see the number of Gatsby-haters who raised their hands.

And this got me thinking….what are the most-hated books out there? They would have to be things that get read consistently over-time (like Gatsby) to generate the most animosity. I have a few other theories, but rather than speculate, I thought it was a good opportunity for a little poll.

So: what three books that you just cannot stand? We’ll post the results next week. (You know you want to know).
