What’s On Your Nightstand?: The Replacements

Greetings from the beach, fellow readers. I hope this week more of you will chime in with your current TBR piles, because that way I can use your upcoming reading choices as fodder for lists I’ll be making as I raid the bookstores of Cape Cod. Watch out, Where the Sidewalk Ends! Beware, Brewster Bookstore! Just because I bought (mumbled number) of new titles from One More Page Bookstore doesn’t mean I don’t need anything from other shops…

Today I’m thinking about nightstand alternatives, since I’ve left my usual overburdened bedside table behind. In its place I have the largest size of boat-and-tote bag that L.L. Bean makes, stuffed with hardcovers and galleys–and I had to take 12 books out and leave them behind.

I’m starting out with The Soldier’s Wife by Joanna Trollope, and proceeding on to the new Henning Mankell and then the new A.M. Homes. After those, I’ll probably check out The Painted Bridge, finish Blue Asylum, and then reward myself with Rhoda Janzen’s follow up to Mennonite in A Little Black Dress, called Does This Church Make Me Look Fat?

What about you? What are you reading this week?
