First Look at the GOOD OMENS Adaptation
Yesterday could have started like any other Monday for Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett fans. A little slow, a little dreary, a little nostalgic for Sunday. But instead, we woke up to Neil Gaiman sharing photos from the filming from the Good Omens adaptation.
It’s happening, everyone! Filming has started and Gaiman is giving up photo evidence.
If you don’t know, Good Omens is a novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett (rest his brilliant soul). It’s about an anti-Christ mix up, the end of the world, and an angel and demon working to figure it out. That’s about as detailed as I can get into the plot line without spoiling any of the magic. The book is hilarious, has some spot on parody moments of The Omen movie, and shows us all why Gaiman and Pratchett were meant to be friends.
Two of the key characters, the aforementioned angel and demon, have had a bit of excellent casting. We get to see David Tennant as Crowley, a wickedly great demon with a really cool car, and Michael Sheen as Aziraphel, a rather proper, bookstore-owning angel.
Here’s the first picture of them, in costume, shared on Gaiman’s Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook accounts. If you don’t follow him on social media, I highly recommend it.

Crowley and Aziraphale: the hair. The amazing hair.
And here we get to see Gaiman, taking a clapperboard hostage.

Since filming of the Good Omens adaptation is just getting starting in London, that means we all have plenty of time to read, or re-read, the book. And while we do so, I have a feeling we’ll get to enjoy some more behind the scenes photos.
How’s everyone else feeling about the Good Omens adaptation so far?
