First Trailer for The Girl With All the Gifts
My first reading of M.R. Carey’s The Girl With All the Gifts (She Who Brings the Gifts in the UK) was via audiobook. The narrator, Finty Williams, succeeded in keeping me creeped out and on edge during my daily commute. That may seem like a bad thing, but it is entirely appropriate for this story. It’s smart, disturbing, and I cannot wait to see it on the big screen. I’ve never before come across a book that screamed to be a movie in the way that this one does.
Imagine my excitement when I saw Carey’s tweet this morning.

He was right to be excited. This looks amazing. Glenn Close has never been more perfect for a role.
The bad news? So far, there’s only a release date for the UK. British movie goers can find it in theaters in September. We’ll let you know when the US release date is announced.
UPDATE: I asked Carey via Twitter about that release date, and it looks like we in the US should be seeing something in the fall, too.
@CassandraNeace Not officially, but it’s going to be very close to the UK date…
