HBO just released the trailer for Big Little Lies, their upcoming star-studded comedy-drama miniseries based on the 2014 novel by Liane Moriarty. The series will premiere on February 19, 2017.

The series was created by David E. Kelley, creator of Chicago Hope, The Practice, Ally McBeal, Boston Legal, and more. It’s directed by the director of Dallas Buyers Club and Wild, Jean-Marc Vallée. The series stars Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Alexander Skarsgård, Shailene Woodley, Zoë Kravitz, James Tupper, Kathryn Newton (Gary Unmarried, Supernatural), Laura Dern (Jurassic Park, The Fault in Our Stars), and Parks and Recreation’s Adam Scott.

The novel Big Little Lies follows three women, each at a crossroads in their life. Moriarty takes on parenting, playground politics, ex-husbands, second wives, fractured families, and the dangerous little lies we tell ourselves just to survive. The book examines the truth about what really goes on behind closed suburban doors.
