5 Creative Ways to Display Your Favorite Book Quotes

If you’re the kind of reader who keeps track of your favorite quotes and passages from books, why not display them in your living space so you can look at them every day?

This painting from Alisa Burke is a poem from e.e. cummings and is made with…wait for it…shoe polish. Just buy a piece of regular canvas in whatever size you want, prime it with white house paint, and write the quote using the shoe polish. Once it dries, stretch the canvas over stretcher bars (available at a craft store, or use scrap lumber) or frame it.

This word tree is from French Larkspur, but there’s no need to rip out pages for it. You can easily write the quotes longhand on pretty stationery and use those, or print them off using your favorite font. Just gather bare branches from the yard and “plant” them in a pretty container and push the pages onto the branch-tips.

Jill of Most Trades covered the top of her coffee table in chalkboard spray paint to let her daughter use it as a drawing surface. You can do the same and use the surface for displaying quotes. The chalk comes off easily, so you can change the quotes whenever it suits your fancy.
