For all those who have been waiting for some bright spot in the increasingly cloudy news cycle, New York Comic-Con has delivered the first trailer  for Good Omensthe limited series adaptation of the novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.

Before Pratchett died in 2015, he asked that Gaiman write the adaptation of Good Omens himself, and it was a request that Gaiman could not refuse. He also serves as the showrunner, and he’s been involved in nearly every aspect of production along the way. It’s those personal touches that are sure to make this series a fan favorite when it premiers on Amazon Prime in 2019.

Show running privilege: when you get to play with the flaming sword.

If the trailer is any indication, Tennant and Sheen’s chemistry will make what sounds like it should be a super-depressing story (it’s about Armageddon, after all), a super-satisfying comic romp through the end times. Pratchett would be proud.
